Game Night 4-24-26 – 40k 2nd Edition and Bánh mì and Lemon Cake!

With the 40k 2nd Edition Challenge, Mark VII almost halfway over we decided to play a game using elements from the C0wabunga Journal Uluru campaign book. We put together a multi-player game with PygmyHippo, Deacon, Jon and myself from the 40k 2nd Edition Challenge, along with two of my other buddies. One of them had limited 2nd Edition experience, the other had none, but with a 30 year old game that probably helped more than hurt them! We started early to ensure we could actually finish the game which was important as we ended up with 2,250 points per side instead of 1,500!

Jon made his famous Bánh mì and doubled the topping choices so we dug in after the first turn of the game. I think there were seven baguettes and after my boys descended upon the food he ended up with 1 and a half to take home! I’d say it was one heck of a success! Can’t argue with the beer Deacon brought for us either, I’d say it fit the theme!

I’m going to write a battle report at some point so I’m just going to share a few pictures of the game, but rest assured I have a lot more to share! With the exception of the Turfshine distillery in the middle of the board PygmyHippo made all of the terrain the night before the game! It’s nice to have super talented friends! He even gave me a few feet of that awesome pink astro-turf so I can make a few sections for myself!

My wife decided to make a Lemon Bundt cake for dessert so after the game was all packed up we were able to grab a slice and talk about the after action!

This was one of our most successful games of 40k 2nd Edition and one of the most fun we’ve had at a games night in a long time! The top notch food really put it over the top!

One of the fun things about the game was it all helped us in our Race to Terra in the 2nd Edition Challenge. Jon and I already played a game and got credit for some of the challenges so we each earned 25 points, while I’d imagine PygmyHippo and Deacon earned 45 points each! Things are heating up!
