A few weeks ago my wife wanted to go to one of our local-ish used bookstores so I decided to tag along with her. This particular store is massive and has a ton of products across a wide range of genre’s. I went along hoping to find some Warhammer, or Warhammer 40k novels, and while they didn’t turn up I did have quite a bit of luck in the rulebook section! Each of the issues of White Dwarfs were only $.99 and the Warhammer Ancient rules were $3.99 each. The most expensive item was the Spike Magazine at $7.99 that I got for my son. Sadly he already had a copy, but even adding that in amongst everything else I still got quite a deal!

Not a bad haul for around $40!

This might sound like some not so subtle bragging, but really it’s just a reminder to stop in and check out your local used book stores, you never know what you might find! The few times I’ve been to this shop the rules section is full of outdated Warhammer 40k rules, this time there was only 1 of those on the shelf, and I managed to dig through everything else to come out with this pile! I should also tell you to make sure you are picking through the books and finding the cheapest copy you can. The store had another copy of one of the Warhammer Ancients books I got, but that one was marked $19.99. I almost bought it for completion sake but was very happy when I found one for $3.99!

My buddy PygmyHippo frequently has a lot of luck at his local thrift store, I might have to start digging through those next time my wife take a trip!
