Game Night 7/26/26 – ESR, Gumbo, and more!

As one of the boys had a basketball game I wasn’t able to host game night on July 26, however, Jose Muldoon offered to host at his house so it wasn’t a total wash. I was even able to make it in time for some delicious dinner. While I wasn’t able to get there in time to play I did enjoy hanging out with friends!

Since I didn’t get there in time to play the most important part of game night was Jose’s famous gumbo! One of the other players was sent to the game with brie wrapped in phyllo, and while I’d say that isn’t a traditional accompaniment to gumbo it was a delicious dessert, especially with some honey drizzled on top!

The game was a scratch scenario with the French having the numerical advantage and the Russians having to defend ground. Each village was worth a certain amount of points depending on where on the field it was and the side with the most points at the end of the game won. Since Jose was taking copious pictures I’m not going to overload this post with pictures, and I’m certainly not going to tell you all how the game ended as I know he’ll write a battle report sooner rather than later!
