Note: I was going to get further in to the rules in this review but I realized I have the first edition of the rule book, the game is actually on the second edition. The good news is the rules are available for free on the TTCombat web page, along with updated character cards. You can actually use the old cards if you want, you just need to be consistent during the game, no using both V1 and V2 cards! Besides different size cards and a different rule book the current box set has the same contents and since I wrote this whole review before noticing it was V1 I figured I’d share it anyway!
I first got interested in RUMBLESLAM a few years ago when I saw it at the Richmond Open but never bought of on it. At Adepticon this year TTCombat sponsored the swag bag with a random assortment of booster packs. As I was walking around the bits trading I located a copy of RUMBLESLAM for only $40. I figured this was a sign so I picked up a copy. It was missing the box sleeve but everything else was intact and in great shape. I won’t be able to get around to actually painting this for a few months with a few projects currently on deck but after checking out the contents I knew I wanted to do a review!
The 63 page rulebook is softcover and full color.

The how to play section of the rules are a total of 40 pages long. There are 6 pages of background, 8 pages of pictures of available teams, and then an index, and a quick reference guide. Each of the Wrestlers has a stats card. The game is based on Action Points with each action taking a different amount of actions. Each attack uses a different color die based on how good that wrestler is at that attack. You have more hits on a gold die than a silver for example. If a wrestler tries to use the same attack too many times in an activation it is possible that the crowd will get bored with a negative effect on the wrestler! As you’d imagine some wrestlers are better at grappling, some are better at brawling, and some are better at high flying hijinks! Yes, there are rules included for using the ropes and the turnbuckles! There are also rules for tag team matches, and throwing a wrestler out of the ring! At the end of Turn 5 whichever player has the most points left standing wins!

The game comes with bespoke dice, tokens, clear bases, stat cards for the two included teams, and a few other game mechanic cards, as well as a neoprene wrestling mat!

Pictured at the top of the photo are the Green Bruisers, the Orc team, and The Heavy Pounders, a human, halfling, Ogre team. These models are cast in resin and are very high quality. I didn’t see any mold lines on my initial look and think they will be quite fun to paint!
