At Historicon I picked up a few small pieces of scatter terrain from Miniature Building Authority (MBA.) I washed and primed it a day or two after the convention and got around to finish painting it today. It’s a nice little model and is very evocative of a refugee car escaping some calamity. There was some mold slippage but nothing terrible.
After getting base colors on all the luggage I gave them a wash with Agrax Earthshade (GW.) I then went back and started to highlight the luggage. Normally I do a base coat and at least two highlights. As I was working on some of the stuff on the car I realized I was having a hard time finding the base color I used which was making highlighting difficult. I then decided that with the wash and the brighter objects highlighted up I was at good enough. Normally I keep pressing on but as this was terrain and I was actually fairly happy with the results I decided to call it. I’m glad I did. Could I have spent more time? Sure. That said I have enough projects that need to be worked on and I was happy so I figured it was stopping time. I may have opened up a whole new world of getting stuff done without stressing over every little detail. I’ll see how long this lasts before I go back to spending way to much time per figure!
