Game Store Review – The Toledo Game Room

While driving out to Chicago for our family vacation I saw a sign for Toledo and instantly thought of the Toledo Game room! When I saw Toledo was only about 15 miles out of the way I knew I needed to at least try to get my family to take a detour on the way home! Fortunately for me my wife was on board and so we agreed we’d stop on the way back home!

Of course Flat Kanley had to pose at The Toledo Game Room sign!

Like a moth to the flame I was drawn to the bits area. I did a little bit of digging but being short on time didn’t spend too much time. Besides, I could tell they hadn’t quite recovered from when I went to Adepticon! The boy spent some time digging too! They had a display case or two with pre-used miniatures but no where near as much as they have on display at Adepticon. I was going to ask where they stored all of those miniatures but again, I decided I probably spent enough money, and didn’t want to push my luck spending the time, so I didn’t!

The Toledo Game room has a huge assortment of comic books, hobby supplies, board games, paints, and role playing games. The supply is literally massive!

The miniature games selection also continues on what seems like forever with a massive assortment of Games Workshop games extending from one end of the store to the other. They also had a series of games such as Star Wars Legion, Star Wars Shatterpoint, Flames of War, and even smaller games such as RUMBLESLAM!

As I walked through the bits area and down a hall I found an entirely separate area full of card tables. This was on top of the 12 gaming tables, (6 sets of two connected tables), and an area for board gaming!

I was so amazed at how big the place was I had to take a picture outside! The second picture is a continuation of the building just past the sign in the first picture. The second picture was where the big card gaming area seen above was.

I didn’t make it out of there completely unscathed, I picked up the old Flesh-Eater Courts Speardhead that I had been unable to find anywhere else, The Ciaphas Cain box that Games Workshop instantly sold out of, and not pictured I got the Eisenhorn Omnibus, and the boy picked up an Ork Mech he wanted! The other boy got a few Pokémon packs he wanted too so everyone won! Even my wife got what she wanted, us to leave in less than an hour!

If you happen to find yourself in Toledo, or even just passing by The Toledo Game Room is well worth a visit! It is past well stocked and is full of treasures both old and new! It was well worth the pilgrimage of going to the home store of my favorite event at Adepticon!
