On my Star Wars Legion night my shop had the new Jedi Council box available so I snatched it up. I have been using Yoda for the last few games, and while I have Obi-Wan Kenobi painted I figured I might as well grab some more characters to add to my Republic Force.
The Jedi Council comes with models for Mace Windu, Plo Koon, Shaak Ti, and Ki-Adi-Mundi, as well as cards for using them in the game in English, German, French, and Spanish. There are also command cards in all four langagues and order tokens, two commander tokens and two operative tokens. Mace Windu and Ki-Adi-Mundi are commanders, and Shaak Ti and Plo Koon are operatives.
The models are cast in a hard plastic and come with what appears to be two models per sprue. I didn’t do a deep dive but a cursory look over the sprues and the instructions looks like their are two whole models per sprue at least! As always these are crisp looking sculpts and I look forward to assembling and painting them. With the exception of Shaak Ti, the models are all standing on some sort of tactical battlefield debris, but you also have the option of choosing and alternate leg in which they are standing on a tactical rock. Take that Games Workshop!
In addition to being able to take the characters as commanders or operatives all of them can be taken as upgrades to units at lesser cost and power. Mace Windu, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Plo Koon are Clone Trooper upgrades and Shaak Ti can be added to any unit in the Galactic Republic. Plo Koon comes with an upgrade allowing him to have a Clone Trooper Unit gaing the Reinue: Plo Koon rule.
All models in this box are classified as Jedi Council and so if they are in the army they can use the pictured 1 pip and 2 pip command cards below. Each of the figures has an additional command card that they can bring, ranging from 1 pip to 3 pips.
This is going to be a fun box to paint and play, I’m definitely looking forward to being able to paint some colors for my otherwise fairly monotone army!
