Battle Report – Age of Sigmar Skaven versus Deathrattle Tomb Host

In this report my Skaven faced off against the Deathrattle Tomb Host. Would the horde of Skaven withstand the horde of the Undead, or would the Skeletons overwhelm and destroy the ratmen? Let’s find out!

The Skaven knowing there is strength in numbers (see what I did there?) stayed together in the center of the board. The Undead spread out further knowing they had speed to converge together with their cavalry, along with the Deathrattle Skeletons who would come in on the third turn.

In turn one there was a mad dash for objectives. One unit of Clanrats and the Rat Ogres charged off towards the Barrow Guard and the Liche and managed to kill a decent number of the Barrow Guard over the course of the first two turns.

In the third turn the off board unit of Deathrattle crawled their way out of the ground to surround the ratmen. So far the Skaven were well ahead in points having controlled the majority of the objectives and having accomplished a few of their Battle Tactics.

With their whole army on the board the Barrow Knights charged into combat against the Skaven along with the Deathrattle Skeletons.

The combats went against the Skaven but with a semi-well timed card the Skaven Clawleader was able to regain all six of his lost wounds. I said semi-well timed because I should have played it after I did his attacks as being fully healed he lost his bonus attacks from being cornered, but live and learn-learn!

On the other flank the Rat Ogres finally managed to bring down the Liche, while the Clanrats finished off the Barrow Guard. My opponent was rolling a lot of 6’s early with his Liche when he didn’t have any wounds on him to recover, but couldn’t buy a 6 when he was wounded to literally save his life!

At the end of the Skaven turn 4 the Deathrattle realized they could not win the game as the Skaven were up 14 to 7. They did not have enough troops to take three objectives and even if they did they didn’t have enough Battle Tactics they could take to win the game. With that we called the game!

Once again Age of Sigmar proved to be a fast paced game
