Tonight we had a total of nine gamers come out, probably an all time record for events at Wachtmeister HQ! We played 40k 2nd Edition, Warmaster, and even some painting!
With this many people we had pizza for dinner, and I made a large batch of my bourbon cider smashes! I’ve never needed to use such a large mixing “glass” before!

If you’d like the recipe for the drinks here it is!
- 2 oz. Bourbon
- 3 oz. good quality apple cider
- .5 oz. lemon juice
- .25 oz. – .5 oz. 2:1 simple syrup to taste
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Spring of Rosemary for garnish
I realize I should probably tell you my life story before giving you the recipe but this isn’t that kind of blog!
The Warmaster table saw two 1,000 point games of Warmaster, Orcs versus Vampire Counts. These pictures were taken when I had a chance to wander over so I really don’t know what happened beyond the Orcs won the first game. Still, it looks like it was a good time. Two horde armies really do have a decent amount of troops, even at only 1,000 points!

Finally six of us played a massive game of 40k 2nd Edition. It was a riff on the famous White Dwarf 187 mega battle featuring all of the studio’s Imperial Guard tanks versus all the studio’s Space Marine tanks. We attempted a scaled down version featuring Imperial Guard, Dark Angels and Eldar rushing to rescue an Inquisitor from being overrun by Orks! I plan on doing a battle report in the not to distant future so I’m just going to upload this picture of the board layout and the Allies for this post. The Orks initial layout will come once I dig it out of my camera roll!

All three of the armies were painted because of the 40k 2nd Edition Challenge, as was the majority of the painted Orks!

As I mentioned before I plan on doing a battle report later on so I won’t give anything away other than the game was full of typical zany 2nd Edition highlights!
