For those of you who’ve been following my blog you know Sunday is my normal gaming night, but as we were out of town for a lacrosse tournament I wasn’t able to get the group together. As the internet (and PygmyHippo!) reminded me it is time to start thinking about the next 40K 2nd Edition Challenge I figured I’d take my free time to try and figure out what I’m going to enter with. I decided it was time to crack the most appropriate beer for the challenge, Nighthawk Brewery & Pizza‘s Cowabunga. You guys have no idea how excited I was to stumble upon this at a local store! I never heard of it, but not only is it perfectly on theme it’s very good!

I knew this wasn’t going to be an easy decision since I have collected quite a bit of 2nd Edition figures since the first challenge. I had narrowed my choices down to finishing my Dark Angels, finishing my Valhallans with some Space Wolves support, or starting one of the other 2nd Edition Imperial Guard armies.

As it turns out I’m more than one challenge away from finishing my Dark Angels, this pile is easily two, if not three challenges from being finished. This is especially true considering I forgot to put the tanks I have in the picture!

I am down to one challenge worth of Valhallans, even with a squad of so of Space Wolves in support. It looks like there is a full challenge worth of Space Wolves in that pile too!

And this box? Let’s just say there is probably about ten challenges worth of metal guard regiments in here.

Hmmm, I’m no closer to choosing than when I started. Maybe I should consider Eldar or Chaos instead….
Are you thinking of joining the Mark VI of the 40K 2nd Edition Challenge? What army are you thinking about painting?
I’ll be posting the rules and officially taking conscripts, errr volunteers within the week but they will be very similar to the last one I was lucky enough to run. You can find those on my blog at The Warhammer 40k 2nd Edition Army Challenge, Mark V.
I’ll be taking volunteers through the first week of December with the first month starting in January. I hope to see you there!
Oh, and since I know you’d be disappointed to not see my Sunday night dinner here it is!
