A while back I was talking about wanting to play Battlefleet Gothic so a friend printed up a pair of Ork ships and a few Imperial Ships for me. I painted the Ork ships last October but never painted the bases. I had a few minutes to kill today so decided it was worth spending a few minutes to paint the bases. I decided to do a purple star field on the bases and used a technique one of my friends, and a wonderful Hobby University instructor, taught me a few years ago to paint starry cloaks. The only thing I did differently is in her class she suggests flicking the white paint from the brush, I used my airbrush to blow the paint splatters.
I probably went a little heavy on the stars but I’m still happy with how the bases game out! Not only did I use a technique I was taught but I used my airbrush again! Time to get those Imperial ships painted up and to see if I can sweet talk my buddy into printing a few more ships for me!
