40k 2nd Edition Challenge Mark VI – April Data

Once again it’s time to look at the 40k 2nd Edition Challenge Mark VI data, this time for April! As of the beginning of the month we still had 36 contestants. If you read my wave 1 entry for the month you saw I was optimistic about this months completion rate based on the amount of early entries. Unfortunately, we ended up with another two Sanction Redactus dropping us to 34 remaining contestants. We also had four mulligans, but I’m hoping this late in the game they come back and finish strong in the remaining two months.

Looking at our to date completion rate things look less dire as we still have 85% of our contestants still in the mix!

Our points per month dropped slightly from last month.

Our models per month also dropped slightly. Both of these data points dropping shouldn’t come as a surprise as we had two more Sanction Redactus, however, due to mulligans last month, we only had one less entry this month than last. Even with one more contestant we would likely have had less points and models, but the numbers would have been even closer.

Our spread of models per painter was fairly consistent with previous months, although this month there was an increase in painters in the 2-5 models category. Once again Mørk led the team painting an impressive 71 models, or in this case 31% of our total models!

Finally, this is the first month we can accurately guess at how many of our contestants can finish their challenges in Month 5. While technically the 34 contestants who did not get the feared Sanction Redactus called upon them can paint enough points next month the rules require entries in 5 of the 6 months so those with Mulligans can not finish next month. As such 24 contestants, 60% of our starting total, can finish their challenge next month. Let’s see how many actually do finish! I know at the time I am writing this I have had a few entries roll in, but I don’t want to risk being positive, we saw how that went this month!
