Zeo Genesis

Back during Adepticon 2024 I helped the team from Best Hobby run demo games of Zeo Genesis. With rules by Games Workshop great Andy Chambers, and background by another Games Workshop great Gav Thorpe I really enjoyed the game. Slightly over a year later the game is being released on gamefound a crowdfunding website. Seeing the game so close to fruition gave me the motivation to paint the Zeo they were giving out to those who played in one of their demo games. I decided to try something new by using Turbo Dork paints, but more on that in another post!

This Zeo is part of the Guardcorps faction. It is important to note this was a provided as a low resolution 3D print, so don’t take too critical a look at the model and think that is what you are getting. The physical models are injection molded plastic and are much higher quality.

As I said above I used Turbo Dork metallic paint for the bulk of the model with a range of other lines for the flat paint. I made the base with a combination of MDF cut offs I’ve collected from kits over the years and model railroad ballast, and after painting added some weathering pigment. Overall I’m very happy with the model!

If you are interested in the game check them out. The core set costs $150 plus shipping and comes with a rulebook, a quickstart guide, dice, foldable cardboard buildings, and two factions. There are add on’s available, STL options for the factions, and more. If would like to support a great group of guys and play with stompy armor suits you can pledge now, the campaign runs until May 20, 2025! I’m going in for the core set, while a buddy is getting the rules and two STL sets. I can’t wait!
