While at Adepticon I got to play in a terrific game of Mordheim. One of the coolest parts was the Game Master commissioned an awesome miniature that was produced by the always quality Trenchworx as a giveaway for everyone who played. So not only did I get to play an awesome game, on one of the best Mordheim tables I’ve ever seen but I got an awesome miniature too! What a win! I was going to paint him for my Hobby Bingo board to get the square about painting a miniature you “just bought” but considering he was free I didn’t want to risk getting an asterisk next to the entry so I waited until I finished another miniature first! Let me tell you, this model was an absolute treat to paint. The details were crisp and well defined and Old Fritz is a grognard par excellence as can be seen by the massive amount of kit he has managed to collect. I think I figured his equipment alone cost over 100 crowns. Considering a warband starts with only 500 crowns Old Fritz has been on the road for quite some time!

I was even motivated to try a little bit of freehand! You can tell Old Fritz has been keeping his head dry with that helmet for quite some time as some rust is beginning to set in. Still, you can tell he takes care of his equipment as most of it appears to be in pretty good shape. You don’t get to be called “Old” anything in Mordheim without taking care of your equipment!
