Hello from chilly, but not quite frigid Milwaukee, the new home of Adepticon! I plan on posting daily to show off the new venue so please follow along as I explore a new city with one of the biggest conventions around!
The new case works a charm, and I’m off! Never mind the screaming baby three rows behind me….

Milwaukee welcomes Adepticon!!!

After dropping off my stuff at the hotel I went to grab some lunch at The Swingin’ Door Exchange. I had a Brandy Old Fashioned and as they had hot dogs on special I grabbed two of those: a chili cheese, dog, and in honor of our old location a Chicago dog! This place is awesome, an easy walk from both our hotel and the convention center. I think I’ll be back!

We didn’t do a lot of walking but this city has some beautiful architecture! The Basement of Death crew over on YouTube said to find the statue of Gertie and I stumbled on her on the way to dinner, victory!

I felt like I was in Raiders of the Lost Ark helping set up the 40k tournaments!

Of course, I had to take the obligatory picture with the Terminator!

I then waited in line to get my badge and swag bag. Holy cow, that’s a lot of merch!!!

After waiting about 20 minutes at a local restaurant without even being asked for a drink order, we decided to go back to the site our delicious, delicious lunch for dinner! The Basement of Death crew highly recommended the crunchy chicken sandwich, but I was really feeling the Reuben. I saw walked by at lunch, so my buddy and I split our sandwiches. They were both absolutely delicious, and I would recommend either! While we were told the crunchy chicken sandwich is the only thing the basement crew gets if I were to go for a tiebreaker, I would suggest the Reuben. Not pictured are the spicy vermouth carrots, which were out of this world!

I missed the Warhammer Preview so I headed over to the Warhammer store where I picked up a few direct only, and missed made to order models. I didn’t feel like waiting on the line, but I really wanted that Warpfire Dragon, I missed the Doomseekers on MTO, and I wanted to get Dribl & Drull for one of my boys. I’ll have to wait in line again tomorrow once I remember what the other boy wants!

Naturally, I couldn’t walk past The Bits Guy without stopping, I need to find an old metal Dragon Ogre after all. I haven’t seen so many classic miniatures in one place in years, he must have stocked up. And wouldn’t you know, I looked down and saw an old green Warhammer blister with a new blister Dragon Ogre? The day wasn’t getting any better than this, so I left for the hotel to call it a night. After a 16,026 step day I’m ready for bed!
