We made it into month two so let’s see how the numbers add up for the 40k 2nd Edition Challenge – Mark VI, February Edition!
As a whole we had a better completion rate this month than with 90% of the participants having completed their entries compared to 85% last month. With that said three of those who did not complete their entries also earned the feared Sanction Redactus. Last year we did not get our first Sanction Redactus until Month 3 so this look foreboding, however, some explanation is needed. Last year with only 14 contestants I was very generous with one of the contestants Month 1 entries. He submitted a picture and said he was using his mulligan, however, there was one finished Space Marine so I opted to count it as an entry. That contestant ended up not submitting anything again so while he ended up getting the Sanction Redactus on month 3 he probably should have had it in month 2. With the bigger group of contestents this year losing three in one month only accounts for 7.5% so it isn’t as bad as it looks. After all, last year losing one contestant in a month was a 7% loss so the percentages are fairly consistent. Like I always say “consistency is the hallmark of success!”

With an additional two contestants submitting their entries our points total jumped a whopping 2,765 points! This amounts to an impressive 30.64% increase!

Our model count jumped by a significant number, up 43 from last month. This was a 16.6% increase in models painted! Looking at these two data points it looks like we painted a greater proportion of high cost models this month as our model count increased at a small percentage than our point count.

Our model spread was very similar this month to last, with one significant outlier. Our most models per painter jumped from 21 to 58! Mørk knocked it out of the park, his output will be hard to beat. It was so stunning I did a double take when doing this graphic and I knew he painted that many!

With that month two is a wrap, lets see what month three has in store for us!
