Warhammer The Old World Rebasing Project – Warriors of Chaos

After rebasing my Nurgle Daemons I had to decide what army I wanted to rebase for The Old World next. Looking at all the armies I have, and what I own that isn’t painted, I think my Warriors of Chaos are the closest to being fieldable in this edition. Most of my other painted armies don’t have any of the cool things from later editions and would require rebasing and a lot of extra purchases. I’m sure I’ll get there of course but I already own some of the better support elements for the Warriors of Chaos so figured I’d dive into them first! This army is going to require more work than the Nurgle Daemons as many of the figures are in rougher shape so will require some paint and repair as well as rebasing. I’ll probably go back and add some detail 17 year old me didn’t bother with while I’m at it!

The army overview.

The characters.

The left flank has given itself over to Khorne. While the Daemons don’t really fit in the army anymore I might as well rebase them while I’m at it!

The right flank.

A closer look at the troops in the center.

After posting this I realized I had a few more pieces not in the box I store the rest of the army in. I retook the group photo and this is the close up of the other pieces. I know I have another chariot somewhere, and forgot I had the one in the picture, so worse case scenario I haven’t really “lost” anything! The Daemon Prince was initially painted for this army, but he is currently on assignment with my Nurgle Daemons.

You’ll notice at one point I redid the bases and missed a few figures. This won’t be a big deal as I’ll be sure to not miss anything this go around. I think the marauder horsemen and the war hounds are on the correct bases now, but for uniformity I’ll probably just rebase them as well. Consistency is the hallmark of success!

Wish me luck!
