Product Review – Diabolical Terrain – Sci-Fi Scatter

At Cold Wars I was over at the Diabolical Terrain booth and saw some cool scatter terrain in a bin. Each piece was $1-$3 depending on the size so I figured I’d grab a few pieces. The owner even threw in an extra piece for me!

Diabolical Terrain makes their products with an FDM printer. These products layer lines are very minimal and not what I’d expect from FDM printing.

They painted up quick and easily. I hit them with a dark gray spray paint, washed them in Nuln Oil and then drybrushed them in lighter grays to highlight them. I picked out some details such as the computer screens, high tech looking lights, and such, gloss coated the screens and lights, and called them done! With the exception of drying time these probably only took me an hour tops!

These bits can be used as random scatter terrain providing cover for your troops, or objectives to take and hold.

They even look cool on top of buildings providing some additional details for your terrain!

My buddy over at Wargaming from the Balcony recently painted up some of the same terrain and posted about it on his site. His post covers some other companies terrain to so you should go see what he’s up to over there!

I got these smaller pieces to try out Diabolical Terrain but I’m definitely going to be looking at buying some bigger pieces at the next show!
