For a while now I have been magnetizing my troops and storing them in Sterlite containers with magnetic sheeting. I don’t do a lot of travel but as I have been going to Adepticon I have been looking for a way to transport my figures in something sturdier. A friend of mine has had the Half-Size case from TABLEWAR for transporting his competition pieces to local tournaments and he told me about the Mini case which is small enough to be carryon and fit under an airplane seat. As I really only travel for skirmish games this sounded perfect for me. TABLEWAR had a Christmas sale so I decided to ask for the Mini Case. Christmas day arrived and Santa placed this awesome kit under the tree!
The Mini case comes with two trays, two metal inserts, and a drawer. It is well built and feels very sturdy. The front of the case is clear which allows people to see your miniatures without opening the case. This is a fun way to show off your figures and it allows airport security to glance inside without necessarily having to open the whole thing up. From a more cynical perspective this case looks like it could be carrying all sorts of items worth stealing to those who are not interested in the hobby so being able to show it contains miniatures not tools, firearms, or anything else of high value might save your case from being stolen! Speaking of being stolen the case has latches that can be secured by a lock if you would like some extra security. This replaces the previous versions combination lock which just might save you from forgetting your own combination!

The case opens from both the front…

and the top!

If you use the drawer you have room for large 28mm, or 25mm figures on one shelf and regular size miniatures up to 28mm scale as pictured below.

If you decide to leave the drawer at home you can bring more large 28mm or 35mm figures as pictured below. Since most rulebooks won’t fit in the drawer if you are using larger figures you might just leave the drawer home. I’ll be using this case mainly for Arena Rex so one tray of guys and the drawer to hold my rulebook, dice, and tape measure is plenty!

From the TABLEWAR website the case has the following dimensions: “Interior Dimensions (usable): 8.75″ deep x 7.5″ high x 11.5″ wide Exterior Dimensions: 9.25″ deep x 8″ high (8.75″ with feet and handle) x 13.5″ wide Interior Drawer Dimensions: 10.75″ Wide x 7.5″ Deep x 1.5″ High.”
As you can see the magnetic portion of the trays are 10.5″ wide by 6.5″ deep. As you can see in the picture below each tray easily holds 60 28mm figures on 25mm bases or 32 28mm figures on 30mm bases with another 10 friends on 25mm bases.

I think this is an excellent case and it’s going to make my travels to Adepticon much easier! If you are interested in getting your own TABLEWAR Mini Case you can get one at Tablewar.com!
