Wave 3 of the GF9 Battlefield in a Box Gothic Sector came out, and so naturally I had to grab these kits!

As with the rest of the line these kits come wrapped in enough bubble wrap to keep the bubble wrap companies in business for years to come.

The Legion Plasma Generators are single piece kits so you can pull them right out of the box and play. This is really nice as they take no work what-so-ever to put on the table. I really like the translucent pieces representing the plasma itself, they look cool and give a good effect. This kit is $30 USD for two Plasma Generators and they are cast in a hard plaster like material.

The Legion Chapel Barracks come in five pieces. The launch pad, the spire, the barracks, an antenna, and a power cord which runs from the barracks to the launch bad. It also comes with magnets to connect the barracks and the spire to the launch pad. The antenna can be dry fit into the barracks so it doesn’t snap off in storage. This is a fun kit and it provides both blocking terrain via the barracks, and flat terrain via the the launch pad. This kit is $30 USD and cast in a hard plaster like material.

The Legion Defense Turrets come in the most amount of pieces of any of the kits. Each turret requires four pieces. The base is one piece and each turret is three pieces. I didn’t realize this until I bought the set the turrets can be made as one of three weapons. They can be a lascannon, a plasma cannon, or twin mounted heavy bolters. The heavy bolters were a nice surprise as I’ve only seen pictures of the front of the box and didn’t know about them until I flipped the box over after buying it. The kit also comes with enough magnets so you can swap out each weapon and the different power/ammo supplies for each weapon. You only get one of each but it is nice to have the options! Of all the kits this is the first one I feel the need to really add some paint to for the weapons themselves. The lascannons silver is a little overpainted on the dark green, and the plasma cannon could use some work. I was surprised at how low to the ground these kits are, I thought they would have been slightly taller. Still, they look nice and play the part so are well worth it. This kit retails for $30 USD and like the others are cast in a hard plaster like material.

Like the other sets I really like these kits. They are affordable and come fully painted, which is nice. I will definitely consider picking up another set of the Plasma Generators and the Defense Turrets to further fill out my tables!
In other news, my wife checked the credit card and was wondering what I had been buying. The good news for me was when I told her pre-painted terrain she said “Good, I love terrain!” She’s a keeper for sure!
