We had two games of Blood Bowl tonight. I pitted my Skaven against my friends Orcs while my boys battled each other with their Black Orcs and Lizardmen. My wife grilled wings and made her famous macaroni and cheese and as always it was delicious! I only wish I didn’t eat such a late lunch, this is one of my favorite meals!

In my boys game they made it slightly over halftime with the plan to finish tomorrow. With the game at 1-1 the Lizardman player ran his skinks away from the ball, forgetting he didn’t have possession. The Black Orc player was able to send a goblin to pick up the unattended ball and run into the end zone bringing it to 2-1. With 6 turns left can the Lizardmen rally? I guess we will find out tomorrow!
Edit: With six turns in the half left the game ended up tied at 3-3 with a forced overtime! The Lizardman player had a streak (ie entire OT worth) of bad luck and the Black Orc player couldn’t fail at anything! After the Lizardman player got a touchdown in the first drive the Black Orcs followed up with a one turn touchdown! The Lizardman player received and after multiple attempts to pick the ball up over multiple turns the Skink runner finally did so. However, the Orc player was out of re-rolls, but got one back from a kickoff results and lobbed a bomb at the Skink. The 1 was re-rolled and come up with a 6 landing on the poor runner. Of course the bomb blew up knocking both the Skinks down and leaving the goblins unscathed. The goblin was able to pick the ball up and run into the endzone for a Black Orc win! With even a little more luck the lizardman player should have been able to at least grab the ball and hold on to it to force a tie and extra point attempts but it wasn’t to be. The loss was particularly hard as the Lizardman player has never lost to his twin brother, had the much better season, and still lost. While the leaving the ball behind thing was a major mistake Nuffle really turned on him. I guess he learned a very important lesson. Nuffle hates you.

The Skaven – Orc game was one of the most ridiculous games I have ever played. In the first turn of the game with the Black Orcs receiving the Skaven got the kickoff result where they could move D3+1 players. Voldo, the famed Gutter Runner dodged through traffic and picked up the ball and ran towards the end zone. The Orcs came in and were able to knock him down despite Voldo having Dodge and Block. The ball scattered and landed on the Orc who promptly rolled a 6 to catch it. The Black Orcs were able to march down the field and score on their turn 7. With 2 turns left the Skaven got a really good bounce and ended up in a Gutter Runners little paws. He ran towards the end zone and when the Orc defender blitzed him he just got the push result and he ran into the end zone tying the game 1-1. When the Orcs kicked to the Skaven a Gutter Runner ran towards the end zone, and in an attempt to get away from the Orcs he went for it and rolled two 1’s in a roll tripping on his own tail! The Orcs were able to pick up the ball and started to march up the field. With a series of crazy, 2 dice re-rolled blocks in favor of the Orcs the Skaven were able to strip the ball three times scoring on turn 7! The Orcs had two turns to score and they got a lucky bounce putting the ball almost on top of the Orc thrower. The Orcs sent their blitzers down field and with no re-rolls were hoping for a good pass. The Skaven were able to blitz the thrower with a Gutter Runner and Blitzer and knocked the ball loose. The Blitzer picked up the ball, but on the Orc turn he was knocked down and the Orcs picked up the ball and attempted a hail mary down the field, but it was intercepted by a Gutter Runner ending the game!
Skaven 2, Orcs 1!
