My gaming group runs a fundraiser at the HMGS convention Fall In! every year. For this year I volunteered to paint the Paton’s Fighting First box set from Battlefront for Flames of War. The box provides 62 points worth of US Armor for the Mid-War period in North Africa. It includes 5 Shermans (1 command tank and 4 for a platoon), 3 M3 Stuarts, and 2 M10 Tank Destroyers. It’s a small but mighty force capable of standing up to most Mid-War desert forces, although you still need to be wary of Tigers!

When you open the box you see it is crammed full of plastic!

Not only does it come with vehicles it comes with rules, unit cards, and decals!

I love how the different vehicles come in different colors, it makes keeping track of the different pieces that much easier! You’ll notice the vehicles have crisp details and some accessories on the sprue. I did get all the way through writing this and realized the box is discontinued, but I managed to find it on a few different webstores with a quick search. Battlefront tanks retail for $10 each and this box came in at $80 which is a nice little savings, especially when you factor in the rule book and stickers. I hope to show this off some more once I get it painted for Toys for Tots. Watch this space as I continue to work on this project!
