My wife and I took advantage of some down time and went up to Portland Maine for a few days. I had hoped it would be much cooler than in Virginia but it was still in the low 90’s! It was nicer during the early morning and evening though, so that counts for something!
We went to Tandem Coffee, The Highroller Lobster Company, and Ohno Cafe.

Flat Kanley tried picking a fight at the beach with some local wildlife but fortunately the warning signs were all we saw of anything more vicious than some seagulls!

Since one lobster roll wasn’t enough we went to Bite Into Maine in Cape Elizabeth. We also checked out the flagship L.L. Bean store in Freeport, and stopped off at The Maine Beer Company while we were there.

Our last day we went to James Beard award winning Zu Bakery. The sweet pastries were really good, but the Ham and Cheese croissant was amazing! We went to the beach again, then went and got Mexican food at El Rayo before going to the Counting Crows in concert.

It was a terrific trip, and while Flat Kanley didn’t launch a new Waagghh I came back nice and relaxed, and looking forward to the next trip up!
