Tomb Kings Arcane Journal Review

When Warhammer The Old World was released I picked up the rulebook, the Ravening Hordes and Forces of Fantasy books, and the Kingdom of Bretonnia Arcane Journal and the Tomb Kings Arcane Journal.

What does the Arcane Journal for the Tomb Kings add?

The Arcane Journal adds a game scenario, two special army lists, three special characters, six new units, and three pages of new magic items. It also has a little extra fluff, and some more full color pictures.

The Tomb Kings of Khemri Nehekharan Royal Host lists requires Chariots be brought as core and allows Tomb Guard, or the new Tomb Guard Chariots, as core. This is a fun way to build up your Chariot hordes of old for sure! The Tomb Kings of Khemri Mortuary Cult list requires a High Priest, and does not allow a Tomb King. The army brings along constructs a plenty so if you want to push an army of constructs with some special rules this is the list for you!

So, is it worth it? Much like the Kingdom of Bretonnia I bought the book not realizing the basic Tomb Kings were in the Ravening Hordes. Unlike Bretonnians I do currently have a Tomb King Army. As such this book gives me a little more value as it is an army I have and can make use of once I dust off my army. Dust off. I did not mean to use that pun, but it fits, so it stays!

Did you buy the Arcane Journal? If so do you think it was worth the purchase?
