In 2019 I attended my first Adepticon ever.  I played in a whole bunch of demo games and bought into two of them, Star Wars Legion, and Arena Rex.  While I’ve painted and played Legion in the intervening years my Arena Rex collection has sat around assembled but unpainted and unused.  I finally signed up for an Arena Rex event at Adepticon (the first event I’ve ever signed up for at Adepticon I might add!) and so now is the time to get painting.  No way I can fly halfway across the country to play with unpainted miniatures, especially when only six are needed!  I chose to paint Micon first because he was fully primed and had the skin base coated.  Two hours later and he was done.  I did some wet blending on the skin, and I put a very watered-down green wash over the skin.  I don’t think the wash had any effect on the look, but I think next time I’ll do a heavier wash before doing the rest of the skin highlights.  I’m not thrilled with the look of the sand so I will probably redo that, but either way he is ready to take to the sands!
