I have been playing Bood Bowl for a few years now with Skaven and I have been looking for an alternate team. Through a Blood Bowl Facebook group I saw a Kickstarter from Waia Games for the Rep’tailz, a Lizardman team. They were running a deal where if you bought the team you could get a discounted second team and I absolutely loved the High Elves and Dark Elves so I jumped both feet in!
One of the things I love about these sculpts are their retro flair. They remind me of the Lizardmen from Games Workshop when they were first released back in 1997 as part of the Warhammer Fantasy Fifth Edition core book. These are the brutal but slow looking warriors of yore but with a modern touch. I just bought my son the current Games Workshop Lizardmen, but these are for me!
Not only do these have great sculpts but they are all unique poses. If you buy the team from Games Workshop the team is made up from two of the same sprue, and while there are some alternative pieces half the team looks pretty similar to the other half. Additionally, when you buy the team from Waia games you get enough miniatures for a full roster. No need to add the big guy, in this case a Sauriox (Kroxigor), as he is already included.
The figures are all 3D printed and have a minimum amount of cleanup required. What little of the supports that are left come off super easy with just a little scrape of your hobby knife. The resin seems sturdy and durable and up to the task of gaming. The only quibble I have with any part of the product is I think the balls sculpted into the hands of some of the smaller guys are a bit small. I’d like to have seen them more to scale, even if they looked big in their hands.
I was nervous backing a Kickstarter as I haven’t had much luck in the past. Waia Games knocked this one out of the park and I’m looking forward to whatever they come up with next!

Look how beefy these Saurus Linemen are!

These Skink linemen look like they are ready to run circles around some poor defenders!

The Sauriox (Kroxigor) is huge and imposing and ready to smash!

These chameleons are ready to sneak around and get some touchdowns!

I love these accessories. The busts are used as “big guy markers” and can be used to show your larger figures are stunned or prone without risking damage to the figure, or taking up to much room. I absolutely love the re-roll marker, it is fun and super creative!

I couldn’t help but pick up the support staff. They don’t have an in-game rule but they look too cool to not include!

If you are interested in getting some of these great sculpts for yourself you can check them out at Waia Games!
